My leadership philosophy

My team leadership is guided by the ZEST principle – a creative leadership philosophy that unites energy, empathy, growth, and aesthetic excellence. This approach defines how I lead creative teams, build cultural platforms, and position brands on a global stage.

Zing – Energy through vision and momentum.
I bring enthusiasm to every kick-off, formulating a clear “why” and creating spaces where teams don’t just deliver—they discover. Enthusiasm becomes the catalyst for trust and movement. As someone who has crossed mountain passes and led a creative network of 300+ participants, I know how to ignite momentum around a shared vision.
Empathy – Trust through genuine listening.
I see people, not just steer them. I create room for honest conversations, understand individual motivations and blockages, and lead with balance between ambition and care. This human-centric approach reflects my background as an athlete and cultural architect—understanding that great work happens when people feel truly seen and valued.
Stretch – Growth through calibrated freedom.
I challenge teams to leave their comfort zones with my full support. I delegate with purpose, provide platforms instead of solutions, and cultivate a feedback culture that is direct, constructive, and growth-oriented. This philosophy comes from my own journey: transforming from competitive athlete to creative leader, constantly pushing boundaries while maintaining integrity.
Taste – Standards through trained visual judgment.
My eye defines the quality framework. I share strong references, stay culturally current, and train my team’s visual sensitivity. As someone who has documented the Olympics and shaped visual identities for global brands like Mercedes-Benz and ZEISS, I know that aesthetic excellence is not optional—it’s the compass for distinction and cultural relevance.

Together, these principles enable me to position brands visibly, differentiated, and culturally relevant—across channels, internally and externally, digitally and analog. This is how I transform the everyday into the extraordinary.

My vision

The camera as tatami.
Just as a judoka masters the mat, I master the camera. My camera becomes a bridge between the raw world of sports and the aesthetics that brands and creatives seek, merging these worlds into a new visual language.

As a former competitive athlete in judo and gymnastics, a young Olympian in Sydney and a photographer for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo and 2024 in Paris, my experiences are as unique as my perspectives. I have published two books and curated several exhibitions
Banality into WOW.
Whether I'm crossing the Thorong La Pass (5416m) in Nepal or driving cultural and creative change in my hometown of Remscheid with my project #5630, I am always authentic, purposeful, and determined. What I see, how I see, what I choose to see and how I present it is part of my job.

Let's challenge rules and redefine cultures together!
